Healthwatch Stockport in partneship with Healthwatch Greater Manchester has published reports from the NHS long term plan.

Summary

The NHS published its Long Term Plan on 7 January 2019. The Plan, which was developed in partnership with frontline health and care staff, patients and their families, focuses on several key changes, as summarised below. The full report can be found on the NHS Website at www.longtermplan.nhs.uk/.

Key Findings

1. Large majority respondents selected ‘access to the help and treatment I need when I want it’ as their priority for prevention in health (717 responses)

2. Key themes included appointment times, a week wait too long, waiting lists, check-ups, mental health, location-distance.

3. People were asked to consider four main areas for this research. The areas chosen were prevention, personalisation, care closer to home, and technology, these areas cover the broad themes within the NHS 10 year plan itself.
