Deaf Awareness Week highlights the unique challenges that people from the deaf community face daily and explores ways for us to support them day to day.

Why is it import to be deaf aware?

Many deaf people still face misunderstanding and barriers. It’s crucial to change perceptions and increase acceptance.

Deaf Awareness Week revisits key knowledge that we can all apply in our everyday lives.  There are some great places for resources that can give you up to date knowledge and tips on supporting people with hearing loss

Healthwatch Stockport's Work

Healthwatch Stockport is committed to improving health and social care services for everyone in the community. We are going to be launching a new work programme reviewing accessibility to primary care for people with additional needs, including those with hearing loss.
