Headway South Manchester and Stockport

Headway South Manchester and Stockport promotes  the understanding of all aspects of brain injury, and provides support and information for the head injured, their families and carers.

Headway hold regular weekly meetings at their drop in centre between 1pm and 3pm on a Wednesday afternoon.  As well as information and advice they offer a range of therapeutic activities determined by those attending the centre.

Weekly meetings are held at Bridge Hall Community Centre, Siddington Avenue, Adswood, Stockport SK3 8LX.

Greater Manchester Neuro Alliance (GMNA)

The GMNA helps people living with neurological disorders of the brain, spine and nerves, brain injury and illness such as cerebal palsy and cancer to find appropriate support and services. They provide programmes for vocational rehabilitation and reablement, hold meetings, activities and events, where you can talk to professionals, clinicians and each other.

The GMNA also offer support with appeals, complaints and application forms when needed.

GMNA work with schools, organisations and groups educating young people about neuro and supporting them to make healthy lifestyle choices.

Head Forward Centre 

The Head Forward Centre (HFC) promotes understanding of all aspects of traumatic brain injury (TBI) and offers a variety of information, support and services for people with TBI and their families and carers.

HFC offer activities based around ordinary day-to-day social activities aimed at encouraging a wide range of important social and personal skills. Activities include group discussions, quizzes, craft, pool and games, which help strengthen patience and concentration and run to support each individual's needs.

HFC is currently open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10am until 3.30pm (excluding public holidays).
