Chest and Heart Health Services
Stockport Heart Support Group – British Heart Foundation
The Stockport Heart Support Group offers support to heart patients in the local area though a social and exercise class. The class is run by a BACPR Instructor and set up to accommodate each individuals needs and so there is no need to worry about having to keep up with everyone else. After the class members sit down, talk and socialise over a drink and a biscuit.
The group is for anyone who has been referred by a GP, cardiologist or local Cardiac Rehabilitation Centre and takes place Wednesdays and Thursdays at 1pm-3pm.

Our helpline is here to support you with any aspect of living with a lung condition – whether you need practical advice, emotional support, or answers to health-related questions.
We have two dedicated teams ready to help:
- Our Helpline Advisors are trained to listen and support you with information on living well with a lung condition. They’ll take the time to understand your situation and talk through any social, lifestyle, financial or practical challenges you may be facing.
- Our Clinical Team includes respiratory nurses, a respiratory physiotherapist, and a dietitian. They can offer specialist advice on diagnosis, managing your condition and understanding treatment options. The clinical team is available through a callback service, which our advisors can arrange for you.
Calls to our helpline are confidential. However, if you share something that raises a serious concern about your safety or the safety of others, we may need to share this with the appropriate services in line with our safeguarding policy.
We're here for anyone affected by a lung condition – including family members, friends, and carers – or if you're simply concerned about your lung health. You don’t have to face it alone.
