Do you support somebody with Dementia?
Would you like to know more about how you could support people in your community with Dementia?
Would you like understand Dementia better?
Healthwatch Stockport will be attending this event and be giving a 5 minute talk. Dementia Awareness week will run from the 20th till the 26th.
At the Cheadle Dementia Showcase Event you will able to meet people with shared life experiences and organisations that may be appropriate to support you, or you may be able to support. This event is for people looking at care services for themselves or their family and for people that would like to support others.
Thursday 23rd May, 2.00pm - 4.00pm repeated at 7.00pm - 9.00pm.
The Event is being held in the Moseley Room, The Upper Room, Back Massie Street, Cheadle, SK8 1DW. Access from the car park, next door to Tesco Express.

This month we raise awareness for 'Action on Stroke' month,
Our Charity of the Year, StrokeInformation and us have teamed up to provide a morning talking about the affects that a stroke can have on us.
It is a real opportunity to talk to others impacted by Stroke, warts and all, helping you understand what it is like to suffer a stroke. How to cope and exactly what support is available. Plus a chance to purchase a personailsed copy of "in the Blink of an eye, reborn" a remarkable inspirational story about a stroke survivors recovery.

15 May 2019 - Dying Matters Awareness Session

During the month of May, Dying Matters Awareness week will happen. This will run from the 13th to the 19th.
The theme for this year is #AreWeReady
There will be an awareness session taking place on the 15th of May, Where Bridget Willis (dementia specialist palliative care nurse) will be running an information stand. Bridget will be raising awareness around dementia and end of life, that it is a life limiting illness and to help people feel empowered and in control of their health and wellbeing.
Healthwatch Stockport will be in attendance with an information stand and also copies of our End of Life Report which you can also download here.
The Awareness Session will run from 10:00 am till 1:00pm on the The 15th of may & 2:00pm till 4:00pm on the 16th of May. If anyone would like to speak to Bridget privately she has also booked out a room.
