News Release from NHS Stockport CCG

NHS Stockport CCG’s pop up vaccination clinic, supported by Stockport Council, returns to Trinity Methodist Church, 351 Bramhall Lane, Stockport, SK3 8TP, this week on Thursday, 5 August, and Friday, 6 August, from 10am-4pm.

Vaccination teams will be inside the Church offering first and second doses of Pfizer and Astra Zeneca vaccinations. Anyone 18 and over, including those who are 18 within three months, is able to attend. No appointment is required, but 8 weeks must have elapsed since the first jab to be eligible for the second.

Dr Cath Munro, Chair of NHS Stockport CCG, said:Getting vaccinated remains the most important way of getting back to normal, and I encourage all young people aged 18+ to make sure they get their first vaccination now.

“I also encourage anyone who is pregnant, and not yet had their vaccine, to do so. It’s important that you look after both you and your baby.

“It is the second dose of the vaccine which gives the maximum protection against COVID-19 so, if eight weeks have passed since your first dose, make sure you come and get your second.”

Councillor Jude Wells, Cabinet Member for Adult Care and Health at Stockport Council, added: “Getting vaccinated is the best way we can all help to control the virus. I strongly encourage anyone aged 18 or over to get their first vaccination.

“The more people that are vaccinated means the spread of the virus is limited, and fewer people will end up in hospital. Everyone has a part to play to help keep Stockport and its residents safe and healthy.”

For those who cannot get to a pop up clinic, Stockport also has a number of community pharmacies offering walk in and bookable appointments. To view the full range of options in Stockport, and how to book, visit http://www.stockportccg.nhs.uk/news/covid-19-vaccination-options/
