Children aged 12-15 Can Now Access New Vaccination Clinics

A new vaccination offer allowing appointments to be booked for eligible12-15 year olds in four Stockport sites has been announced by Stockport Council and Stockport Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).
From Monday, 22 November, clinics will take place at four different locations with varying times:
- Monday, 22 November, at Stockport Citadel, Cheadle Heath, SK3 0JE from 4pm-8pm.
- Saturday, 27November, at Westmorland Primary School, Brinnington, SK5 8HH from 9.30am to 3.30pm.
- Thursday, 9December, at St Peters Church, Hazel Grove, SK7 4EA from 4pm to 8pm.
- Monday, 13 December, at Life Leisure Houldsworth, Reddish, SK5 7AT from 4pm to 8pm.
The walk-in vaccination centre in the One Stockport Hub in Merseyway also continues to vaccinate eligible 12-15 year olds from 10am to 3pm every Saturday until 18 December.
These new clinics will provide further opportunities for parents to get their children vaccinated if they have missed the school vaccine programme or if home-schooled children were unable to attend their available dates and times.

Councillor Colin Foster, Stockport Council’s Cabinet Member for Children, Family Services & Education, said:“The number of Covid-19 cases among school children remains too high, so this school-age vaccination programme for 12-15 year olds who are yet to be vaccinated will help to provide better protection.
“A vaccine will also prevent complications following the Covid-19 infection and reduce disruption to children’s education. Reducing transmission of Covid-19 among the wider population should remain a high priority for all of us right now. Along with continued hand hygiene, and wearing face coverings in public spaces, vaccination for everyone eligible from 12 year-olds to our oldest members of the community, is one of the best ways of doing this.”
“While the school-based vaccination programme for 12-15 year olds has ended, we’d still like to see more young people getting their vaccination. As such, the four new dates for bookable sites are an excellent offering for parents, carers and guardians.“The walk-in clinic in the One Stockport Hub is also convenient and accessible given its town centre location.
