Make sure you’re vaccinated if you’re planning a holiday abroad this year is the advice from Stockport health bosses. The best way to take the stress out of making travel plans, and to protect yourself and your family from serious illness because of COVID-19, is by getting fully vaccinated.

If you or your family need a first, second or booster vaccine, get it at one of the special half-term pop up clinics next week, there are 10 locations to choose from and two clinics per day. View all times and venues at www.stockportccg.nhs.uk/news/covid-19-vaccination-options/.

For those who can’t make the pop up clinics Trinity Methodist Church, 351 Bramhall Lane, Bramhall, SK3 8TP, continues to offer a walk in service on Tuesdays and Fridays, 8am–6pm, and Saturdays and Sundays, 9am–5pm.  There are also several Stockport pharmacies offering vaccination services, viewable on the CCG website: www.stockportccg.nhs.uk.

Bookable appointments are also available on the National Booking Service at www.nhs.uk/covid-vaccination or by calling 119 for free.

Dr Cath Munro, Chair of NHS Stockport Clinical Commissioning Group, said:

“Now with restrictions easing, if you are planning on going abroad over the next few weeks and months the first item on your tick list needs to be making sure that everyone travelling has all the COVID-19 vaccinations they need, as that may be a condition of travel and entry to other countries. Don’t delay.”

Councillor Jude Wells, Stockport Council’s Cabinet Member for Adult Care & Health, said:

“We know that the Stockport community has done all it can to help prevent the spread of Covid over the last two years and we all deserve a break.

“If you’re planning a holiday abroad this half term, remember you’ll need to make sure you’re fully vaccinated to get into some counties without quarantining. The best thing to do is check with the Foreign Office for up-to-date guidance, rules and regulations and get vaccinated in plenty of time.”
