Pop-Up Covid-19 Vaccination Clinics Return to Stockport

Pop-up vaccination clinics are returning to Stockport from Monday, 4 April, 2022, with a particular focus on booster vaccines for over 75s and those aged 12 years and over who have a weakened immune system.
This includes a return for the popular town centre clinic at the One Stockport Hub, in the former Argos store, in Merseyway, SK1 1RA. It opens for vaccination four days per week from Wednesday, 6 April, until Saturday, 30 April, from 9.30am-5pm Wednesday to Friday, and 9.30am to 3.30pm on Saturdays. Please note it will be closed on Good Friday. No appointment is needed, anyone 12+ and eligible can just walk-in.

For those who can’t attend one of these pop up clinics, find the nearest walk-in centre or book an appointment at www.nhs.uk/covid-booster or by calling 119 free of charge.
Local pharmacies across Stockport are also offering vaccinations, bookable via the National Booking Service: www.nhs.uk/covid-vaccination. This includes appointments at Trinity Methodist Church, 351 Bramhall Lane, Bramhall, SK3 8TP, on Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, 9am–6pm.
This latest vaccination offer has been organised by NHS Stockport Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and Stockport Council. The clinics have been arranged to give local people a convenient place to get boosted and stay protected from Covid-19. The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) advice is that people should get their booster around six months since the last dose for maximum protection against Covid-19.

Dr Cath Munro, Chair of NHS Stockport Clinical Commissioning Group, said:
“Covid-19 is more serious in older people and those with a weakened immune system. Thanks to the Covid-19 vaccine, we can get back to doing the things we love. However, Covid-19 is still out there and there are still people in hospital unwell with the virus. Make sure you stay up-to-date with your vaccines for the best possible protection and to keep yourself and others safe.”
“It’s also not too late to get a first, second or booster dose vaccine for anyone who hasn’t come forward yet. The vaccine offers the best protection against becoming seriously unwell, staying out of hospital, and passing the virus on to others.”
Jennifer Connolly, Stockport’s Director of Public Health, added:
“Covid-19 rates are still extremely high in Stockport and the pandemic is not yet over. So, if you are in one of the vulnerable eligible cohorts, please get yourself a booster.
“It will benefit the most vulnerable in society because immunity derived from vaccination declines over time. There’s plenty of choices in convenient locations across Stockport including bookable appointments or at walk-in pop-up clinics.”
