News Release from NHS Stockport CCG

Children aged 5 to 11 can get vaccinated at even more locations in Stockport thanks to a new Covid-19 vaccination clinic, organised by NHS Stockport Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and Stockport Council.

This new clinic opens on Sunday, 24 April, and then every Sunday, from 3pm to 6pm, at Trinity Methodist Church, 351 Bramhall Lane, Bramhall, SK3 8TP. Appointments must be booked in advance as the clinic is not accepting walk-in appointments for children of this age. To book an appointment visit www.nhs.uk/covid-booster online, or call 119 free of charge.

Trinity Methodist Church vaccination clinic, which is operated by Scorah Chemist Bramhall, continues to accept walk-in appointments for anyone 12+ and eligible from Tuesday to Saturday, 9am to 6pm, and every Sunday, 9am to 3pm.

Anyone 5 and over, and eligible, can already get vaccinated at the town centre vaccination clinic at the One Stockport Hub, (in the former Argos store) in Merseyway, SK1 1RA. The April opening hours for 5 to 11-year-old vaccinations are 9.30am to 3.30pm on Saturdays.

Anyone 12+ and eligible can also get a first, second, booster, and Spring booster vaccination at the One Stockport Hub on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, 9.30am to 5pm, and Saturday, 9.30am to 3.30pm. One Stockport Hub is accepting walk-ins for all age groups. No appointment is required.

The full range of vaccination options in Stockport, including opening hours and who is eligible, can always be found on the CCG website at www.stockportccg.nhs.uk/news/covid-19-vaccination-options. Phillip Winrow, Vice Chair of NHS Stockport Clinical Commissioning Group, said:

“I am delighted to see that there are even more local options available for young children to get vaccinated and protected against Covid-19.

“The vaccination teams at the One Stockport Hub and Trinity Methodist Church have made a real effort to make both venues child friendly and I invite everyone who still needs a vaccination to come along, meet the team, and get vaccinated.

“Remember, appointments for 5 to 11-year-olds at Trinity Methodist Church need to be booked in advance. No appointment is necessary at the One Stockport Hub.”

Jennifer Connolly, Stockport’s Director of Public Health, said:

“I encourage families to take advantage of these special children’s clinics at the One Stockport Hub and Trinity Methodist Church. Vaccinations have protected our children and young people from potentially serious diseases for decades and the Covid-19 vaccine is already making a big difference to help protect us all. With half term and summer holidays on the horizon, make sure everyone is protected and able to get away this year.”

For those who can’t attend one of these pop up clinics, find the nearest walk-in centre or book an appointment at www.nhs.uk/covid-booster or by calling 119 free of charge.
