Healthwatch Stockport are on tour… at your local library!

Claire and Shirley set up shop at Cheadle Library this week to chat to people about Healthwatch and the experiences they have with local health and social care services. It was great to chat to so many people and provide an opportunity for local people to give their feedback.

Next up on this Library tour is Bramhall Library on Tuesday 19th September (more information on the flyer below and see the other flyers for the next dates on the tour). Come and say hello to Shirley and Claire and provide your feedback on local health and social care services.

Spend Well Live Well grants

Message from Lizzie Austin from Pure Innovations Community Hub:

The Spend Well Live Well grants are now available for application from Community Organisations in Stockport.

There will be a ‘Drop in’ in each locality for organisations to ask any questions.

Attached is Cheadle’s Drop In taking place on 14th September.

These are part of the Household support Fund (4th round) although this part will be targeting communities & voluntary groups.

This can either to set up bolt-ons to groups for the winter months, or to enhance the offer they already have (as we did with warm spaces grants), or just to provide a Christmas lunch etc.

SMBC have put together the webpages where applicants will be encouraged to read all the info pages before requesting an application.  https://www.stockport.gov.uk/news/spend-well-live-well-grants-now-available-for-community-organisations

This grant is not for individuals or family units, that type of fund is available at AGEUK, Stockport Homes, Disability Stockport etc.

See attached for more information.

Sector 3's Meet, Greet and Grow Conference

Thursday 14 September, 9.30am - 1.30pm

Stockport Guildhall

Message from Laura Bowers from Sector 3:

Many of you have told us of your struggles to attract a broader diversity of volunteers. At this event we'll be looking at how we can remove the barriers to volunteering - so that it's accessible to everyone in our communities.

We'll be hearing from Stockport College, Seashell Trust and Friendly Fridays on how they go about recruiting for volunteers.

We'll also be looking at how we can work smarter, not harder. Everyone knows that the people in our sector work tirelessly to support their communities. How can we make better use of the existing assets and resources we have access to? How can we save time, money and energy?

Plus we'll hear from Stockport Libraries, Starting Point and Blue Star FC on how they've got creative with their resources, to ignite inspiration.

This event is open to all community groups and organisations in Stockport, no matter the size or area you work in.

We’d love to see you there!

There is a £5 ticket fee, however this will be refunded to you after attendance at the event.
