Last week we asked you 'Did you know that parkinson's disease is a type of dementia?"

Last week's poll was right down the middle as a tie. Half saying 'Yes' and half saying 'No' the reason we asked this question was because in light of dementia action week we found an article listing all the types of dementia. Picnic in the Park - Cheadle

Picnic in the Park is back this July and we would love for you to join us!

This will be the 4th Picnic we’ve held in Abney Park with the Cheadle Civic Society and previously Cheadle-Get-Connected. With the support of SMBC we are so pleased to be able to host this event for the community for FREE! 

The event will take place on Sunday 17th July, 12-5pm at Abney Hall ParkCheadle, SK8 2BE.

Walk and Talks and Saturday Tennis - Forward LGBT+

Flyer for Walk and Talks (attached) Forward go for weekly walk and talks in local parks, along the canal and river. They do litter picks too and is a great opportunity to get out into nature and meet people from the local LGBTQIA+ community. Contact details on the flyer of you want to join.

Spend Well, Live Well Money Maximising Roadshow

Stockport Council and partners are committed to supporting residents particularly with regards to the rising cost of living.

 Residents are encouraged to attend a Spend Well, Live Well Money Maximising Roadshow event on 8th June from 12 PM to 4 PM at Woodley Civic Hall.

The event will bring together a range of services and organisations to provide free and impartial financial advice and guidance to support those who want to help make their money go further.

Organisations attending include Stockport Council, Citizens Advice Stockport, Age UK Stockport, Stockport Homes and Renewal North West.

 The event is open to the whole family and will include arts and craft activities.  Free food available between 12noon – 1pm.

Mencap Big Learning Disability Survey

Mencap is inviting people with a learning disability to take part in their Big Learning Disability Survey. It’s been fully co-produced by people with a learning disability and asks questions on topics they say are important to them including healthcare, discrimination, mental health, and money and support.
