What are people telling us about prevention and early intervention?
Action by health services to help prevent illness and disease or spot conditions early is crucial. But how easy do people find it to get this kind of help so that opportunities to prevent ill health are not missed?

Important Message Issued 2/10/25
Message from Michael Cullen and Mark Roberts, Stockport Council
You will have seen reports of a serious incident that occurred outside a synagogue in Manchester this morning. While details are still emerging, I know that news of events like this can feel deeply upsetting, especially for those whose faith, background, or sense of safety may make them feel more vulnerable as a result.
I want to reach out to you directly to say:
- Your safety and dignity matter to us. You should never feel threatened or unsafe for who you are, or because of your beliefs. If you do, tell us and we'll work with you to make a difference.
- We stand against all forms of hate, violence, and discrimination. Our values demand that everyone in our community be treated with respect and protection. If you experience an incident, please report it.
- We’re here to support you. If you’re feeling anxious, concerned, or upset by this incident or by recent events more broadly, please reach out - to your manager, HR, or through our wellbeing services.
- We will continue to monitor the situation and will keep you updated if we receive confirmed, relevant local information that impacts our workplace or community.
- Please look out for one another. If you notice a colleague seems affected by events, especially because of their identity or faith, a kind check-in may make a meaningful difference.
This is a distressing time for many. Thank you for your strength, your compassion, and for helping to foster a workplace and community grounded in safety, kindness, and mutual respect.
If there is anything you’d like to talk through or feedback you have about how we can best support everyone, our doors are always open.

Report on Adult ADHD Services in Greater Manchester Published
Details from NHS Greater Manchester
You can now read NHS Greater Manchester's full report following an extensive public consultation on local adult ADHD services.
More than 2,500 people got involved through surveys, focus groups, workshops, calls, emails, texts, and pop-up stalls during the eight-week consultation (23 April-17 June).
People strongly supported the proposed model, which focuses on quicker access and prioritising those most in need.
Feedback highlighted the need for a more caring service that supports everyone with ADHD symptoms, diagnosed or not. Participants asked for ADHD-friendly services with faster triage, diagnosis, practical help, and resolution of shared care issues. Many also want to be involved in shaping services to meet the needs of those with neurodiversity.
Findings, alongside clinical evidence, will inform the final service model. Updates will be shared on the NHS Greater Manchester website and directly with stakeholders.
