Happy to Announce our Charity of the Year - StrokeInformation

Healthwatch Stockport is happy to announce that its charity of the year goes to Stroke Information, a charity that helps anyone impacted by stroke, stroke survivors, carers and family members on ways to cope and manage after a stroke.
StrokeInformation meet the Mayor of Stockport

Set up by Nick Clarke a professional football player for Stockport County FC, who suffered a stroke over 7 years ago. With a bad bleed on the brain, Nick found out the hard way, that life isn’t easy after a stroke. Nick releasing that there wasn’t much support for him when it happened, now gives free information through his charity for stroke survivors, carers and other family members hoping that the charity can help them out as much or as little as possible.

6,000 Stroke Survivors in Stockport

Maria Kildunne, Chief Officer, Healthwatch Stockport said “There are over 6,000 stroke survivors in Stockport and the charity Stroke Information really touched our hearts. In choosing Stroke Information as our charity of the year, we will be running events throughout the year to raise the profile of the charity, raise some much needed funds and more importantly raise awareness that there is local support for stroke survivors and anyone affected by stroke”

"Truly honored"

Nick Clarke, CEO and Founder of Stroke Information said “Our latest event which was supported by Healthwatch Stockport was a major success and I cannot thank Maria and her team enough as the event allowed people to come and learn about the charity, what we do, how we help people impacted by stroke and we provide advice, guidance and support which isn’t from a book, it comes from real life experience.  Once I was informed that Stroke Information was chosen to be “Charity of the year” not only was I truly honored but also overwhelmed because it shows that Stroke Information is starting to reach the unforgotten voices within the region”.

We care, because we've been there
