Why do we collect demographic data?
At Healthwatch Stockport, we are committed to ensuring that we hear from everyone in Stockport.
When we receive feedback, we ask for certain details which allows us to understand who is engaging with the questions that we are posing and who is utilising our services.
Demographic data allows us to decipher different groups and what aspects of their identity, such as age, gender and race, might influence the way that they respond. It also permits us to understand who are reaching successfully and what proportion of the population in Stockport that we do not engage with enough. We can then tailor our messaging to appeal to different audiences to encourage wider involvement in their local Healthwatch.
